Actually, it does. Many male animals (including reptiles) have internal penises (penii) that come outside their cloaca when they are ready to reproduce. Many have two (or one that is split with 2 heads). For mammals, they look a bit like external penises, but a bit smaller. So while, internal male genitals look like “girly bits” at first, they can look very “male” (in a human sense) when aroused. I’m guessing that is probably how it works in the “Shades of Gray” universe, too, but could be wrong.
Yeah, that’s probably about right. I’ve avoided thinking about it in any kind of detail for so far, but something internal that occasionally becomes external fits the vague idea.
Oh, yeah, I can see that. That makes sense. If that’s going to be how it works, in-universe.
I want to ask why that should even matter at all? How is that relevant to the story?
It’s just background info.
If you want to stretch it, you could say that their physiology influences their society and how they interact in certain instances. And explains certain hand gestures.
Even if a bit of information sounds irrelevant, it can be useful to know. The little details are how you really fill out a character or a setting; stuff like the photos on Ten’s wall tell you as much or more about his character than his bio does.
Am I strange because in my mind’s eye, I’m animating their ears as they talk? It does add to the expressiveness of their words.
You need to make panel 1 available without text so people can adopt Ten as their avatar.

Damn it all! I started reading on a Sunday and devoured everything that was put up in one sitting. Now I have to wait all week.
On the other hand, I’m very happy that I found this, because aside from quickly becoming my favorite webcomic ever, it also has one of the best fan-bases I’ve ever seen. Also, I made a Gravatar to post to this site and can’t figure out how to use it, any help would be appreciated.

Hey! I just wanna say that I got into reading this on Monday. I finally caught up and I am pretty jazzed with some sci-fi space opera slice of life you got going on. Ten is adorable and I admit I really like Ten/Jovi a lot. I really hope Jovi didn’t blow it and ruin their friendship. I don’t know what same sex pairings are like among the Kilim but it’s good you didn’t throw it in for the lulls and it was actually built up progressed as a normal relationship.
